Staying in tune with our wide variety of flooring solutions here at Southern Flooring, we also offer engineered or EVP options for your floors. While EVP or engineered flooring may be very similar in look and feel to LVP or luxury vinyl planks, there are some key differences that you may need to consider when choosing the right floor for you.
Engineered flooring tends to be the easier type of flooring to install when comparing the two, as LVP needs to be glued into place. EVP also tends to be more durable and less flexible than LVP is due to the fact that EVP has a stone-based core. This means that engineered flooring has benefits in particular uses over LVP and vice versa. EVP will be better in floors that are used a lot and they are sturdier, but LVP fairs better in environments with a lot of temperature change due to its ability to flex more. If the floor you are using will see a lot of people using it, EVP may be the better option in the long term.
So EVP is easier to install and remove, which makes it easier to clean and repair while maintaining a very realistic look and feel to that of hardwood.
